Apple appears to be preparing a waitlist for Siri AI when iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate launch publicly, which means some users may need to wait before they can download the required models and start using the upgraded assistant.
The latest Beta 7 releases include new waitlist infrastructure that lets Apple show personalized wait-time messages after a user requests access. Apple can change those messages remotely as demand and server capacity change, while each message remains specific to the user and device.
MacRumors forum member Mactracker found the new infrastructure inside the seventh betas of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate, including a server endpoint designed to fetch the current Siri AI waitlist message for a device.

Apple currently returns a message telling users that they will receive a notification when the new version of Siri becomes available for their device. macOS 27 also includes a similar fallback message that appears if Apple’s server does not return a response.
Siri AI access may depend on demand
Apple already used a waitlist during Siri AI beta testing, and some testers waited as long as a week before gaining access. There is currently no indication of how long the wait will be after the public releases arrive in September.
The new system gives Apple more control over the rollout because it can adjust estimated waiting times without releasing another software update. This also allows Apple to manage downloads of the on-device Siri AI models as more users begin requesting access.
Siri AI is one of the biggest additions coming with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate, so the waitlist infrastructure suggests Apple expects strong demand when the updates reach the public.
