It has been a bumpy road for Sonos recently following a difficult app update, but the audio company is trying to win fans back. Today, it revealed a huge new product lineup that includes the Ace Ultra headphones and the Beam Ultra soundbar. The brand also announced a major software update called Sonos 27, which brings smarter voice controls and better device connections to its whole system.
The company upgrades its headphones with double the noise cancellation
The new Ace Ultra headphones cost $449 and come in four colors, including black, white, sand, and agave. The company says its updated driver delivers a deeper and richer sound. Buyers can expect double the active noise cancellation compared to the previous model. The battery lasts an impressive 35 hours even with the noise blocking turned on. A quick three-minute charge gives you three hours of listening time.
These headphones also tie deeply into the new software platform. Users can connect them directly to a local Wi-Fi network and easily pull audio that is already playing on another compatible speaker in the house.

The premium soundbar brings spatial audio into a very compact design
For home theater fans, the new Beam Ultra soundbar is priced at $699. It keeps a low profile to fit under most televisions but adds full 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos support. This means it has speakers firing sound upward to fill the room. It also uses artificial intelligence to make spoken dialogue much easier to hear during loud action scenes. Both of these new devices start shipping on September 29.
To tie everything together, the new software platform introduces smarter artificial intelligence features across the board. People can now use natural language to play music or move audio between rooms. The update also allows you to pair two portable Sonos speakers to act as rear surround channels for a movie night, and then move them back to their normal spots the next morning.
With smart hardware improvements and a fresh operating system, the brand is clearly pushing to regain customer trust. These upcoming releases offer a promising step forward as it looks to leave past software struggles behind for good.
