Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models could bring another notable performance upgrade, with newly leaked circuit diagrams suggesting that the A20 Pro chip may include a seven-core GPU, larger cache memory, and a faster memory interface.
The leaked diagrams do not show the A20 Pro chip directly, but they reveal the solder layout where Apple will attach the chip to the main circuit board. That layout gives some clues about the internal architecture Apple may use for its next-generation mobile processor.
Weibo leaker Fried White Rice shared the diagrams and suggested that Apple will continue using a six-core CPU design with two high-performance cores and four efficiency cores, matching the basic configuration found in the A19 Pro.

However, the efficiency cores appear to receive a larger L2 cache, potentially increasing from 6MB on the A19 Pro to 8MB on the A20 Pro. The high-performance cores are expected to keep their existing 16MB L2 cache.
A20 Pro could add another GPU core
The GPU configuration remains harder to determine because the circuit diagrams leave room for several possible layouts, including six, seven, or eight graphics cores. Based on the available solder positions and overall layout, the leaker considers a seven-core GPU the most likely configuration.
A seven-core GPU would give the A20 Pro one additional graphics core compared with its predecessor, potentially improving gaming performance, graphics-heavy apps, and on-device AI workloads.
Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital previously claimed that the A20 Pro will deliver around 18% better performance while improving power efficiency by roughly 30%.
Apple is expected to introduce the A20 Pro chip with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, although the final specifications will remain unclear until Apple officially announces the new models.
