A former chief executive takes charge of the new division
To guide this huge effort, Chirantan “CJ” Desai is joining the company as the Chief Enterprise Platform Officer. He will report straight to Zuckerberg. Desai brings a lot of experience in building software, scaling technical systems, and handling security for big businesses.
Before taking on this new role, Desai was the top boss at MongoDB, serving as both President and CEO. He also led product and engineering teams at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow. Desai believes artificial intelligence will completely change how organizations serve their customers and run their daily operations over the coming years.
With this launch, the company is stepping beyond consumer apps to become a major player in the business technology market. Bringing in a seasoned leader like Desai shows they are serious about building a strong foundation for corporate users.
