Full spoilers for Evil Dead Burn follow. Alice survives the Price family reunion, but no other attendee emerges as an unpossessed human survivor. She escapes the burning house, then faces the Deadite version of her late husband Will at a nearby construction site. She uses a jackhammer, hot tar and the Kandarian Dagger to end that final fight. The victory is personal as well as supernatural: Alice has broken away from the abusive marriage his family kept urging her to honor.
The apparent clean ending does not last through the credits. Will’s grandmother Polly is still moving as a Deadite, and a later scene brings back Ellie from Evil Dead Rise. Alice gets out alive; the evil does not end with the family home.

Alice is the last human standing
Alice arrives at her deceased husband Will’s family home expecting a difficult period of mourning. The Prices do not know, or do not accept, how painful the marriage was for her. Their demand that she remain loyal to Will becomes cruelly literal when Deadites begin using members of the family against one another. Joseph, Will’s brother, uncovers the concealed Kandarian Dagger, drawing the demonic threat toward the gathering.

Will returns as a Deadite, and his parents Edgar and Susan are possessed. Joseph and his girlfriend Thya also die amid the siege. Alice uses the dagger and other improvised weapons to stop the attackers, but saving the household is no longer possible. The final confrontation moves to a construction pit, where Will pursues Alice after the house burns. The ending’s decisive action is her refusal to keep Will, alive or dead, at the center of her future.
Polly’s survival changes the meaning of the fire
The destruction of the house looks like an answer to the nightmare. A mid-credits scene undercuts it: Polly, already a Deadite and grievously damaged, crawls away and attacks someone who stops to help. She is not a human survivor alongside Alice. She is evidence that burning the setting has not necessarily destroyed every possessed body or ended the danger beyond the property.
The distinction matters because a conventional survivor count would otherwise be misleading. Alice has escaped the massacre as herself. Polly persists in monstrous form. The film makes those two outcomes very different, even while both characters remain physically present after the main confrontation.
The final stinger reaches beyond the Prices
A second credits scene returns to Ellie, the possessed mother from Evil Dead Rise. A young girl finds an urn associated with her remains; Ellie appears and kills the child. The scene links the two films without showing that Alice knows about Ellie’s return or that they will meet. It expands the threat rather than rewriting Alice’s escape.
So the direct answer is narrow but firm: Alice survives the family reunion, while the Deadites’ story continues outside it. Was the final image of Alice an ending to her ordeal or only a pause before another encounter? Tell us what you think in the comments.
