Apple’s updated base Magic Keyboard is on sale for $79.99 at Amazon, marking the first reported discount for the 2026 model. The deal takes about 19 percent off Apple’s regular $99 price.
The Amazon listing should show the new U.S. English model with glyph-only labels on keys including Tab, Caps Lock, Shift, Return and Delete. Buyers should confirm the model because older USB-C keyboards have also sold for the same discounted price.
Apple refreshed the keyboard in August without changing its core hardware. MacObserver’s original coverage explains the new symbols and the models included in the update.

The update is mostly cosmetic
The keyboard retains USB-C charging, Bluetooth connectivity, a rechargeable battery and the same compact layout. The base $99 version does not include Touch ID or a numeric keypad.
Apple also sells a $149 model with Touch ID and larger versions with a numeric keypad. Those keyboards are separate products and are not necessarily included in the $79.99 promotion.
The new keycap design primarily brings the U.S. layout in line with recent MacBook keyboards and international layouts that already use symbols. It does not provide a different typing mechanism or new wireless feature.
This discount is most useful for someone who wants Apple’s compact keyboard without biometric authentication. Price, seller and delivery date should be confirmed at checkout because accessory promotions can end without notice.
Amazon can mix generations in one search result, making the product image and model number important checks before ordering the discounted keyboard.
