Apple has increased its trade-in values for iPads and most Macs in the United States, allowing customers to receive more credit when upgrading to a new device. The updated estimates, introduced on October 26, 2026, include increases of up to $365 for select Macs, while every iPad model now qualifies for a higher maximum trade-in value.
The changes follow Apple’s previous trade-in adjustments in September, when the company raised Mac and iPad values while reducing iPhone payouts. The latest revision also coincides with the launch of the new OLED iPad mini.
New iPad Trade-In Values
Apple has increased the maximum trade-in values across its entire iPad lineup, with improvements ranging from $10 to $20.

Here is a comparison of the previous and updated estimates:

| iPad Air | $510 | $525 | +$15 |

| iPad | $280 | $300 | +$20 |
The standard iPad and iPad mini received the largest increases at $20 each. Meanwhile, the iPad Pro remains the most valuable tablet for trade-ins, with a maximum estimated credit of $915.
These changes arrive as Apple prepares to begin pre-orders for its latest iPad mini on October 28.
Apple Increases Mac Trade-In Values by Up to $365
Mac owners benefit from considerably larger increases, particularly those trading in high-end desktop computers.
The Mac Pro receives the biggest adjustment, increasing from $2,195 to $2,560. The Mac Studio follows with a $240 increase, while the MacBook Pro gains another $120.
| Mac Model | Previous Value | New Value | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| MacBook Pro | $1,315 | $1,435 | +$120 |
| MacBook Air | $705 | $795 | +$90 |
| Mac mini | $620 | $645 | +$25 |

Interestingly, the MacBook Pro’s maximum trade-in value has more than doubled since May 2026, when Apple offered up to $690. The MacBook Air has also climbed from $520 to $795 during the same period.
The iMac Pro remains the only Mac category without an increase.
What About iPhone and Apple Watch Trade-In Values?
Apple has kept its iPhone and Apple Watch trade-in estimates unchanged following September’s adjustments.
The current maximum values include:
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: Up to $885
- iPhone 17 Pro: Up to $785
- Apple Watch Ultra 3: Up to $430
- Apple Watch Series 11: Up to $200
These values remain subject to device eligibility and condition.
How to Check Your Apple Trade-In Value
Customers can visit the official Apple Trade In website to check how much their existing device is worth.
Apple calculates the final offer based on several factors, including:
- Device model and year: Newer and higher-end configurations generally qualify for higher estimates.
- Physical condition: Screen damage and other hardware problems can reduce the offer.
- Technical specifications: Storage capacity and configuration influence the valuation.
Eligible customers can apply their trade-in credit toward a new Apple product or receive an Apple Gift Card. Apple generally requires online trade-in devices to arrive within 14 days after customers receive their new purchase.
The updated amounts apply to the U.S. market, and customers in other countries should check their local Apple Store for regional estimates.
With the latest increases, customers planning to upgrade their Macs or iPads have an opportunity to receive additional credit, although comparing Apple’s estimate with resale prices remains worthwhile before trading in a device.
