Apple TV is reportedly developing a Silo spin-off even before the main series reaches its final season, with the new project expected to explore another part of Hugh Howey’s underground world.
The third season of Silo has now finished, while Apple has already scheduled the fourth and final season for summer next year. However, the company appears interested in keeping the franchise alive after the main story ends.
Apple TV reporter Sigmund Judge says Apple is working on a spin-off series that could enter pre-production later this year. The project is reportedly based on an upcoming Hugh Howey novel focused on events connected to Silo 40.

Apple has not announced the series, while Howey has publicly denied that such a project is moving forward. Still, one production detail has added weight to the report.
Judge says filming for Silo Season 4 finished in March, but the production sets remain standing almost six months later. Studios usually dismantle expensive sets after filming ends when they no longer plan to use them, so keeping the Silo sets intact suggests Apple expects to return to them.
Apple continues expanding its sci-fi franchises
A Silo spin-off would also fit Apple TV’s recent approach to its larger science-fiction properties. The company is already developing Star City from the For All Mankind universe, along with another series connected to the Monarch franchise.
Silo has also become one of Apple TV’s major science-fiction shows, giving the company a strong reason to continue exploring Hugh Howey’s world after Season 4.
For now, Apple has not confirmed the Silo 40 project, so more details will likely depend on how development progresses later this year.
