Deadline’s Crew Call podcast featured Gilligan alongside composer Dave Porter, and the conversation eventually turned to the progress of Pluribus season 2.
Gilligan said the team had finished breaking the season and was preparing to start shooting soon, adding that he was excited for viewers to see what comes next.
Pluribus season 2 could arrive in late 2027
The exact filming start date remains unclear because the podcast recording date was not confirmed, although Gilligan’s comments suggest production could begin as early as September or within the following months.
The interviewer also asked whether Gilligan still expected season 2 to premiere in late 2027, although Gilligan avoided confirming a specific date and joked that it would arrive sometime in the 21st century.
A late 2027 release still fits the expected production timeline, especially if filming lasts around six months and Apple follows a release window similar to the first season. That schedule makes November 2027 a reasonable target, although Apple has not announced an official premiere date.
Gilligan also said he currently sees Pluribus running for at least three seasons and possibly four, while acknowledging that those plans can change as the story develops.
