Tom’s Guide awarded Slow Horses season 6 a 4.5 out of 5 rating and named it one of the 10 best shows of 2026 so far. The review particularly praised the writing and quick pacing as the series enters its latest chapter.

Decider also gave the new season a positive review, highlighting how the series continues to balance its espionage story with dark comedy and character drama. Season 6 brings Gaby Chiappe in as the new showrunner, replacing Will Smith.
Season 6 puts Slough House in serious danger
According to Apple, Jackson Lamb and the Slow Horses find themselves on the run after Diana Taverner pulls them into a dangerous game involving retaliation and revenge. The season adapts Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh books in Mick Herron’s series.
Gary Oldman returns alongside Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar and Christopher Chung. Olivia Cooke also returns as Sid Baker, while Lenny Rush joins the ensemble as Reece Nesmith.
Slow Horses season 6 consists of six episodes and premieres globally on Apple TV on September 16. New episodes will arrive every Wednesday, with the finale scheduled for October 21, 2026.
