Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 3 preview
Spoilers ahead for Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 2.
Episode 2 finally brought Ted back into the familiar Richmond environment and started establishing the Lady Greyhounds as the main football story of the season. Ted reunited with Roy Kent, Coach Beard, Rebecca, Higgins and Keeley while learning that coaching the women’s side comes with challenges that extend well beyond tactics.
Episode 3 now appears ready to expand the new squad properly. Tryouts should introduce more of Richmond’s players and give Ted his first real chance to determine what kind of team he has inherited.
The title “Richmond’s Got Talent” also points toward an episode built around discovering overlooked players. Ted has always valued personality, teamwork and potential alongside football ability, so the tryout process gives Season 4 an easy way to bring that philosophy back while introducing its new cast.
The bigger problem sits above the pitch. Richmond’s shareholders are already questioning the women’s project, which means Rebecca and Ted need to show that the club has a future before the season has properly started.
Richmond is entering a very different era
Season 3 ended with Ted leaving England to return to his son Henry in Kansas, while AFC Richmond completed an extraordinary turnaround and finished second in the Premier League. Keeley also presented Rebecca with the idea of creating a Richmond women’s team, setting up the storyline that now drives Season 4.
The old men’s squad has changed significantly too. Episode 2 confirmed that Jamie Tartt has left Richmond for FC Barcelona, while Season 4 has shifted its attention toward the Lady Greyhounds and their new players.
Apple describes the full season as Ted taking on his biggest challenge yet by coaching a second-division women’s football team. Jason Sudeikis returns alongside Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, with Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely among the new additions.
Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 3 streams August 19 on Apple TV. With tryouts underway and Richmond’s ownership already questioning the project, the next episode should give us a much clearer picture of the team Ted will take into the season.
