Ted Lasso season 4 still has several episodes left to air on Apple TV, but early production plans for season 5 suggest fans may not face another long break once the current season ends.
The comedy returned after a lengthy gap following season 3 in 2023, when the story appeared to reach a natural ending and the future of the series remained uncertain. Season 4 has now brought the show back, while new production details indicate Apple and Jason Sudeikis are already preparing for another season.
Sigmund Judge reports that Ted Lasso season 5 is provisionally scheduled to begin production in London in January 2027, which puts a summer 2027 return within reach if filming and post-production stay on schedule.

That timeline would resemble the production cycle for season 2, which began principal photography in January 2021 before arriving on Apple TV in July of the same year. Season 3 faced a longer production process, although the show’s current momentum gives Apple a clear reason to keep the next season moving quickly.
Apple has not officially renewed Ted Lasso for season 5 yet, but a formal announcement could arrive closer to the end of season 4, which is scheduled to continue releasing new episodes through October 7.
Several major cast members also appear positioned for a longer run, with Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift reportedly signed to three-year deals.
If production begins in January as planned, Ted Lasso season 5 could arrive during summer 2027, giving Apple a much shorter turnaround than fans experienced between seasons 3 and 4.
