Lanterns Season 1, Episode 4 finally gives Hal Jordan and John Stewart a major answer in their investigation, but the discovery creates an even bigger problem between the two Green Lanterns. The episode, titled “The Weenie,” reveals who has really been hiding behind the Manhunter mystery in Rushville.
The fourth episode also brings Sinestro back into Hal’s story while the Guardians continue pushing John toward a decision that could put him directly against his partner.

The episode picks up the Manhunter investigation after the previous chapters spent more time explaining John’s history and his complicated path toward becoming a Green Lantern.

Hal and John are running out of time, and John believes William Macon’s property could hold the answer. Their search leads them deeper into Macon’s strange operation, where they are captured by armed men before Macon takes control of the situation himself. The encounter becomes increasingly bizarre when Macon strips naked and asks John to draw him.
However, Macon is only one part of the mystery.
Hal and John eventually encounter a man presenting himself as Hector Hammond, who appears to be connected to the Manhunter threat. That lead quickly falls apart when they discover he is actually Hector Gutierrez, a human who has been using alien technology.
Zoe is revealed as the Manhunter
The biggest twist comes through Zoe Macon.
Zoe appears to die during an attack, but John’s reaction immediately makes Hal suspicious. Hal realizes John knows more than he has admitted, and the evidence eventually points toward Zoe being the Manhunter they have spent the season trying to find.
Zoe survives and reveals the truth about her identity, confirming that she is connected to the Guardians’ synthetic Manhunters. The reveal also changes the meaning of several earlier scenes involving Zoe, including her relationship with John and the strange events surrounding William Macon.
Meanwhile, a flashback shows Hal visiting his former mentor Sinestro for information about the Manhunters. Sinestro attempts to manipulate Hal and feeds his growing doubts about John.
John faces pressure of his own. A Guardian wants him to take Hal’s ring and replace him, but John refuses to turn against Hal.
Episode 4 leaves Hal and John’s partnership in a dangerous position just as the Manhunter mystery finally starts making sense. With Zoe exposed and the Guardians interfering directly, Episode 5 now has several major conflicts ready to unfold.
