The Westies Season 1, Episode 6 pushes Jimmy Roarke into a dangerous partnership with John Gotti while Glenn Keenan and Bridget Walsh make decisions that could reshape the final two episodes.
Titled “Rad Tad,” Episode 6 arrived on MGM+ on August 9, with Jimmy’s cocaine business becoming the biggest threat to his loyalty to Eamon Sweeney. The season has eight episodes, with the finale scheduled for August 23.

Spoilers ahead for The Westies Season 1, Episode 6
The previous episode left Jimmy and Mickey in a difficult position after their first major cocaine purchase ended with Leon and Charlie dead. Gotti subsequently offered them a 50/50 partnership, although Jimmy initially remained loyal to Sweeney. Meanwhile, Keenan’s attempt to gather evidence against Sweeney failed after the Westies discovered his wire and brutally attacked him.
Episode 6 begins with Jimmy already moving large amounts of cocaine, although his generous payments and his crew’s personal drug use quickly reduce his profits. His answer appears to be Tad Guggenheim, a wealthy cocaine user who claims he can sell a kilo to rich customers for a huge return.
Jimmy’s deal with Tad puts him in Gotti’s hands
Jimmy needs $100,000 to secure the cocaine, but Sweeney refuses to finance him. Loan shark Ruby Stein agrees to provide only $50,000 with expensive repayment terms, leaving Jimmy under pressure before the deal even begins.
Jimmy eventually gets the cocaine, but Tad has already become part of Gotti’s plan. When Jimmy arrives, Gotti takes the drugs, keeps Tad hostage and blocks Jimmy’s other supply route. With Jimmy owing Ruby $50,000 and having nowhere else to buy cocaine, Gotti finally has the leverage he wanted.
Jimmy agrees to a secret 75/25 arrangement with Gotti, with neither Sweeney nor Paul Castellano allowed to know about it. Gotti then demands one final act to complete the deal: Tad has to die. Mickey shoots him.
The arrangement creates a major problem heading into Episode 7. Jimmy has spent much of the season trying to build his position within the Westies while remaining loyal to Sweeney, but he is now secretly working with one of Sweeney’s biggest rivals.
Keenan takes revenge while Bridget stops the bombing
Keenan also becomes more dangerous after surviving the Westies’ attack. He helps build a case against Dukey Sullivan by obtaining an affidavit from one of his victims, but he eventually confronts Dukey himself and beats him so severely that the episode strongly suggests he dies.
Elsewhere, Bridget volunteers to detonate the car bomb intended to kill Markham. She gets a clear opportunity, but protesters and the risk of civilian deaths make her hesitate. Bridget refuses to trigger the explosives, allowing Markham to escape and putting her relationship with Brendan Cahill under even more pressure.
With Jimmy secretly tied to Gotti, Keenan seeking revenge and Bridget defying the IRA operation, The Westies now has several conflicts ready to collide before its August 23 finale. Episode 7, “A Boy Made of Trouble,” arrives August 16.
