Vision eventually uses battery acid to seal his wound, allowing F.R.I.D.A.Y. and E.D.I.T.H. to stabilize him temporarily. Meanwhile, Paladin continues tracking them using drones designed to detect Vision’s coolant.
The pair take shelter at a hotel, where Tommy begins questioning his connection to Wanda Maximoff and the events in Westview.
Vision explains what happened during WandaVision, although he struggles to accept that Tommy could be his son.
How Does Tommy Save Vision?
Tommy reveals that his powers first appeared when he nearly drowned as a child. During the incident, he experienced another presence entering his body and suddenly developed extraordinary speed.
This revelation suggests a connection between Thomas Shepherd and Tommy Maximoff, whose existence traces back to Wanda’s magical reality.
When Vision’s systems begin failing again, F.R.I.D.A.Y. determines that he needs a complete reboot.
Vision asks Tommy to generate enough electrical energy to restart him using his speed. They enter the hotel’s swimming pool, where Tommy manages to produce the necessary surge and successfully brings Vision back online.
The moment also strengthens their relationship, as Vision finally begins accepting Tommy’s identity.
Who Is the Butcherbird Killer?
Another storyline introduces a mysterious killer known as Butcherbird, who leaves wing-shaped markings around murder victims.
The killer confronts Paladin and enters his mind, revealing that his abusive father died at the hands of the original Paladin, who subsequently raised him.
As ComicBookMovie’s Episode 3 recap explains, the encounter exposes Paladin’s troubled past and introduces a dangerous synthetic adversary.
The killer’s appearance resembles Jocasta from Marvel Comics, although Episode 3 leaves her identity unconfirmed.
VisionQuest Episode 3 Ending Explained
The episode ends with Vision’s internal AI companions holding a memorial for J.A.R.V.I.S., creating an emotional moment following his successful reboot.
However, their gathering takes a disturbing turn when an unknown presence breaches Vision’s neural network.
The lights go out, D.U.M-E and U fall under external control, and a mysterious voice greets Vision.
The ending suggests that Tommy’s electrical surge allowed someone to locate Vision and infiltrate his systems.
Ultron’s growing influence also remains concerning, particularly after he encourages Vision to reconsider his relationship with Tommy and the possibility of rebuilding his family.
According to Disney’s official series guide, Vision must confront Ultron’s influence while discovering what connects him to Tommy.
VisionQuest Season 1, Episode 4, titled “Malware,” is already streaming on Disney+, having premiered alongside Episode 3.
