I have a similar “96%” keyboard from Keychron, with the same mashed-together layout. For me, this was a compromise between compact keyboards that are missing many keys (numpads, navigation buttons, F-keys, and sometimes even the tilde/backtick) and full sized keyboards that eat up my precious desk space and make mousing just a little more difficult.
Like you, I took a while to get used to it. For the first week or two I was constantly hitting other keys when reaching for the delete/backspace key. I did get used to it eventually, though, and now I’m very happy with the design. It’s as small as many tenkeyless boards and the only thing it’s missing is the Print Screen key, which is practically useless on Mac anyway.
