Apple Partners With TechTV To Showcase Mac Developers & Software

Apple has announced a very exciting opportunity for Mac developers, in conjunction with TechTV. Brett Larson, TechTV’s Mac expert on TechLive! and The Screen Savers, will accept developer submissions for possible review on TechTV through the Apple Developer Connection (ADC). In other words, Apple’s ADC is making it possible for Mac developers to get national exposure in front of both Mac and Windows users, and it’s free of charge. From Apple:

As one of the industry’s premier Mac authorities, and the leading Mac evangelist on TechTV, Brett Larson always keeps an ever-watchful eye out for new Mac OS X compatible hardware and software products.

Brett looks forward to presenting the latest gear on his "The Mac Tip of the Day" segment on TechTV’s popular "Call for Help," a live one-hour call-in show. Available in 33 million households across the United States, TechTV’s "Call for Help" is extremely popular with the Mac audience, with many viewers tuning in just for Brett’s tip of the day segment. Brett also occasionally appears on "The Screen Savers" program showcasing the latest Mac hardware products and software titles. His regular product reporting duties with "TechLive!" — TechTV’s half-hour news and information program — also showcases Brett with numerous opportunities to present the latest and greatest Mac products.

Mac developers now have the unprecedented opportunity to have their products reviewed on one of Brett’s television segments. In conjunction with the Apple Developer Connection, Brett will accept product submissions for on-air review. While there is no guarantee your product will make it on the air, this is a great opportunity to get major exposure for your products.

This opportunity is free of charge. However, Brett will only evaluate Mac OS X compatible products. Moreover, Brett and TechTV reserve the final say as to which products receive air-time.

You can find more information on this program at Apple’s ADC Web site.

The Mac Observer Spin:

This is one of the most exciting initiatives we have seen come out of Apple in some time. Offering exposure to Mac developers to a mainstream audience means more opportunities for those developers, but it also helps show a lot of computer users some of the outstanding Mac software available. Remember that the vast majority of mainstream people think there is no software available for the Mac platform, and very few know of such resources as VersionTracker. We applaud Apple’s efforts here!
