Apple has launched a new Safari privacy campaign that highlights how the browser protects iPhone users from online tracking. The campaign includes a new video, digital advertisements, and billboards that highlight Safari’s built-in privacy features and explain how they help keep personal browsing activity private.
In the new advertisement, Apple uses a humorous approach to show how data trackers follow users across the web, comparing them to people constantly looking over someone’s shoulder while they browse. The campaign ends with a simple message that positions Safari as a browser designed with privacy at its core.
Safari’s Built-In Privacy Features
Safari includes several privacy tools that work automatically in the background. Intelligent Tracking Prevention uses on-device machine learning to block cross-site trackers while still allowing websites to function properly. Users can also view a Privacy Report that shows which trackers Safari has blocked during browsing sessions.
Apple also highlights Safari’s fingerprinting protection, which makes it harder for advertisers to identify individual devices based on browser settings, installed fonts, and other system characteristics. In addition, Safari gives users more control over browser extensions by allowing access permissions for a single day, a specific website, or permanently.
Safari’s Private Browsing mode includes features such as Link Tracking Protection, which removes tracking information from web addresses. Private tabs can also be locked using Face ID or Touch ID, adding another layer of security for iPhone users who want to keep their browsing activity private.
