Apple has opened its new Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston, Texas, where the company will train small and medium-sized businesses in advanced production methods, automation, machine learning, and other manufacturing skills.
The 20,000-square-foot center sits inside the same Houston facility where Apple already builds and ships advanced AI servers and plans to begin Mac mini production later this year.

Apple says the center will offer free training and educational sessions, giving participating businesses access to equipment, interactive labs, factory-floor tools, and guidance from Apple engineers. The company wants to help more businesses adopt smart manufacturing techniques that already play a major role in Apple’s own production processes.
Apple brings manufacturing training to Houston
Apple Newsroom says the first group of business leaders is attending hands-on training at the center today, with sessions focused on machine-learning-driven quality control, advanced automation, production challenges, and practical assembly work.
Participants will also work with a holographic table and other manufacturing equipment while learning how to identify production problems and adjust processes in real time. Apple plans to expand the program later so local college students can also receive training in advanced manufacturing.
Tim Cook visited Houston for the opening and said Apple invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the facility in less than nine months. He also confirmed that the company has already started AI server production there and remains on track to begin making Mac mini units in Houston later this year.
The Houston center becomes Apple’s second manufacturing learning site in the United States after the Apple Manufacturing Academy opened in Detroit in August 2025. Apple says that program has already trained nearly 1,000 workers, students, and entrepreneurs in areas such as automation, machine learning, quality control, and production processes.
The Houston expansion also forms part of Apple’s broader U.S. manufacturing investment, which includes custom silicon, advanced components, cover glass, AI servers, and upcoming Mac mini production.
