Apple has released iOS 27 beta 7 to developers, continuing its weekly testing cycle ahead of the public launch expected in September. The new beta arrived on August 24, one week after beta 6 build 24A5418b. Apple had not yet published the beta 7 build number on its developer release index at the time of writing, so we will update it once the listing refreshes.
At this stage of development, Apple appears to be concentrating mainly on stability, performance and remaining bugs rather than introducing another large set of features. Beta 6 already brought smaller interface refinements and fixes as Apple moved closer to the final iOS 27 release.
How to update to iOS 27 beta 7
If you already have the iOS 27 developer beta enabled, you can install beta 7 directly from Settings:

- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap General.
- Select Software Update.
- Tap Beta Updates if the new beta does not appear automatically.
- Make sure iOS 27 Developer Beta is selected.
- Return to the Software Update screen.
- Tap Update Now when iOS 27 beta 7 appears.
- Keep your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and sufficiently charged while the update installs.
Apple currently provides the developer beta through the Software Update section on eligible iPhones.
All the changes in iOS 27 so far
Apple has gradually refined iOS 27 throughout the beta cycle, with the biggest changes centered on Siri AI, Apple Intelligence, Liquid Glass and several everyday iPhone features.
- Siri AI: iOS 27 introduces Apple’s rebuilt Siri experience with better conversational understanding, personal context, on-screen awareness and deeper actions inside apps.
- New Siri interface: Siri has a redesigned visual experience tied more closely to the Dynamic Island, along with a dedicated Siri app that lets users return to previous conversations.
- Siri voice controls: Beta 5 expanded Pace and Expressivity controls across American and British Siri voices, giving users more control over how Siri sounds.
- Liquid Glass refinements: Apple has continued adjusting its Liquid Glass interface throughout testing, including redesigned app icons and a transparency control for changing how transparent system elements appear.
- Updated app icons: Safari, Siri, Settings, Remote, App Store and Preview received updated Liquid Glass icons during the beta cycle.
- Search controls: Users gained a new Before Search section in Settings with options for app suggestions, shortcut suggestions and recent searches shown in Home Screen Search.
- Photos improvements: iOS 27 adds keywords, star ratings, customizable slideshows and other Photos changes. Earlier betas also introduced a Zoom Photos to Fill option.
- Messages improvements: Apple has worked on continuous sending and several interface refinements, while beta 6 fixed an issue affecting the pinned Messages interface from beta 5.
- Notification animation: Beta 6 introduced an updated animation as notifications disappear into Notification Center.
- Performance improvements: Apple has worked on faster app launches, Photos loading, Camera startup in Low Power Mode, AirDrop transfers and transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
- More everyday upgrades: Other additions across iOS 27 include Dual Capture in FaceTime, custom EQ controls for AirPods, easier Apple Pay card switching, new recovery options and AI-generated wallpapers.
With the beta schedule now moving weekly, iOS 27 beta 7 is another late-stage release focused on getting the operating system ready for its September launch.
