Apple has released the seventh developer beta of visionOS 27 for Apple Vision Pro, continuing testing ahead of the public release expected this fall. The latest update arrived on August 24 and carries build number 24M5359a.
The new beta follows visionOS 27 beta 6, which arrived a week earlier, so Apple has now moved to a faster testing schedule as development gets closer to completion.

Developers who have already enrolled their Apple ID for beta software can install the latest visionOS 27 beta directly from Apple Vision Pro.

- Open the Settings app on Apple Vision Pro.
- Select General.
- Open Software Update.
- Select Beta Updates.
- Make sure visionOS 27 Developer Beta is selected.
- Return to the Software Update screen.
- Download and install visionOS 27 beta 7 when it appears.
Apple distributes current beta operating systems directly through Software Update, so developers no longer need to download a separate beta profile.
All the Changes Coming With visionOS 27
Beta 7 appears focused mainly on stability, bug fixes, and preparing visionOS 27 for its wider release. Apple has introduced several larger changes throughout the earlier beta cycle, including:
- Siri AI: visionOS 27 introduces Apple’s next-generation Siri with longer conversations, richer responses, and deeper Apple Intelligence integration. Vision Pro users can also ask Siri questions about digital content or physical objects they are looking at.
- New Siri app: Apple has added a dedicated Siri app where users can return to previous Siri AI conversations and continue them later.
- Spatial panorama scenes: Panorama photos can be converted into spatial scenes with additional depth, and users can turn supported panoramas into personal environments.
- New Thórsmörk environment: visionOS 27 adds an Iceland-inspired environment with mountains, valleys, rivers, and separate daytime and nighttime versions featuring the northern lights.
- Curved app windows: App windows use a more curved presentation designed to fit more naturally into the Vision Pro workspace.
- Updated Control Center: Apple has reorganized Control Center to make commonly used system controls easier to reach.
- Smarter notifications: Notifications can automatically expand when users look at them, making additional information available without requiring another interaction.
- Smaller widgets: visionOS 27 adds a more compact widget size, giving users more flexibility when arranging information around their workspace.
- Spatial Preview from Mac: Developers and creators can preview spatial photos, 3D models, Apple Immersive Video, and other spatial content from a Mac directly on Apple Vision Pro.
- Better RealityKit tools: visionOS 27 adds physical-space lighting, real-time cloth simulation, improved spatial audio modelling, Projective Textures, and support for rendering 3D Gaussian Splats.
- Improved object tracking: The update brings higher-frame-rate object tracking and improved accuracy for objects that users hold or move in the physical world.
- More support for spatial games: visionOS 27 expands support for third-party game engines and spatial accessories, including PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers in supported experiences.
- Web environments: Developers can create immersive 360-degree website environments that provide a more spatial browsing experience in Safari.
Apple is expected to continue fixing bugs and improving performance through the remaining beta releases before visionOS 27 reaches the public.
