Apple Seeds First iOS 26.4 Developer Beta After iOS 26.3 Release

Apple Seeds First iOS 26.4 Developer Beta After iOS 26.3 Release

Apple has kicked off the long-anticipated iOS 26.4 development cycle by releasing iOS 26.4 beta 1 for iPhone. The new beta arrives just days after Apple shipped iOS 26.3 to the public, so this is the first look at what may land in the next point update.

Right now, iOS 26.4 beta 1 is available to registered developers through the Software Update section in Settings. Apple typically follows with a public beta after the developer build has had a little time in testing.

Early expectations around iOS 26.4 have centered on Siri and broader Apple Intelligence work, but the first beta may not include the biggest Siri upgrades people have been waiting for. Still, this is the build where those changes can start to show up as the beta cycle moves forward.

How to install iOS 26.4 beta 1

If you are enrolled in the developer beta program, you can install the update in a few quick steps:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap General
  • Tap Software Update
  • Tap Beta Updates
  • Choose iOS 26 Developer Beta
  • Go back, then tap Update Now (or Download and Install)

Before you install, back up your iPhone and make sure you have enough battery or keep it on a charger during the update.

Changes in iOS 26.4 beta 1

Apple has not positioned iOS 26.4 as a single-feature release, and early builds often focus on under-the-hood work. In other words, beta 1 can look quiet on day one, then pick up visible changes over the next few seeds.

That said, iOS 26.4 is still expected to grow into a more meaningful update than 26.3, with attention on Siri and Apple Intelligence. We are testing this beta now, and we will report back if we spot major changes, including any Siri and Apple Intelligence updates as they appear across later betas.

If you have installed iOS 26.4 beta 1, tell us what you are seeing so far in the comments.
