Apple to Announce Swift Student Challenge 2026 Winners on March 26

Apple will reveal the winners of the Swift Student Challenge 2026 on March 26, marking the next step in its annual effort to support young developers and student creators. The challenge remains one of Apple’s key programs that encourages students to build original coding projects using its development tools.

This year’s challenge began on February 6, with submissions closing on February 28 after students from around the world submitted their work through Swift Playgrounds or Xcode. Apple reviews these projects based on clear criteria, including “excellence in innovation, creativity, social impact, or inclusivity,” which sets the tone for how winners are selected.

According to Apple, all winners will get a chance to attend the WWDC 2026 Special Event at Apple Park through a lottery system, while a smaller group of “Distinguished Winners” will receive direct invitations. Apple describes these entries as “truly exceptional,” and those selected will join a three-day experience in Cupertino that includes keynote viewing and additional activities.

Students who participated should expect an email update about their results later this week. The recognition also gives winners exposure within the developer community, along with a chance to connect with Apple engineers and peers during WWDC.

Apple continues to position the Swift Student Challenge as a platform where young developers can showcase ideas that reflect both technical skill and real-world impact.
