Apple TV announced yesterday the limited series “Lucky,” led by Anya Taylor-Joy, and confirmed a summer premiere date. The show adapts a bestselling crime novel and puts its main character on the run after a big job goes wrong.
The rollout is already set. Lucky starts in mid-July with a two-episode debut, then sticks to a weekly release pattern into late August.
The supporting cast includes Annette Bening and Timothy Olyphant, with the series positioned as Taylor-Joy’s biggest TV role since The Queen’s Gambit.
Release date
Apple TV will premiere Lucky on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, launching with two episodes. After that, new episodes arrive weekly through Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Here’s the release plan:
- Premiere: Wed, July 15 (2 episodes)
- Weekly drops: Every Wednesday
- Finale window: Through Aug 19
Plot
Lucky follows a con artist named Lucky who gets pulled into a high-stakes heist that spins out of control. Once the job collapses, she runs, and the chase comes from two directions at once: federal law enforcement and a crime boss with no patience for mistakes.
That setup points the story toward fast turns and shifting loyalties. Lucky is not trying to clear her name. She is trying to stay alive long enough to find an exit, while every move tightens the net around her.
The series adapts the bestselling novel by Marissa Stapley, and Jonathan Tropper co-wrote the show with Cassie Pappas.
