Apple TV’s ‘Widow’s Bay’ and ‘Pluribus’ Earn Top Emmy 2026 Nominations


Apple TV has earned major recognition at the 78th annual Emmy Awards, with Widow’s Bay and Pluribus landing nominations in some of the most important categories this year.

The platform received 89 Emmy nominations in 2026, marking its highest total so far across the main and Creative Arts Emmy categories. This comes even though earlier award favorites like Severance and The Studio were not eligible during this year’s voting period.

Apple TV Scores Big in Major Emmy Categories

According to the Television Academy, Apple TV shows picked up several nominations in high-profile acting and series categories, including comedy and drama races.

The major Apple TV nominations include:

  • Best Actor in a Comedy Series: Matthew Rhys for Widow’s Bay
  • Best Actress in a Drama Series: Rhea Seehorn for Pluribus
  • Best Comedy Series: Widow’s Bay
  • Best Drama Series: Pluribus
  • Best Actor in a Drama Series: Gary Oldman for Slow Horses
  • Best Actress in a Comedy Series: Elle Fanning for Margo’s Got Money Troubles

Apple TV also earned Best Comedy Series nominations for Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Shrinking, while Slow Horses and Your Friends & Neighbours joined Pluribus in the Best Drama Series race.

Emmy Winners Will Be Announced in September

The main Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on September 14, 2026, with Mariska Hargitay set to host the event.

The Creative Arts Emmy winners will be announced earlier across two nights on September 5 and September 6.

Apple TV did not lead the full nominations list this year, but its 89 nominations show a strong awards season for the platform, especially with newer titles like Widow’s Bay and Pluribus earning recognition in the top categories.
