Apple Watch collectors have now cataloged more than 1,000 official Apple bands released since the watch arrived in 2015. The milestone comes from Bandbreite, an independent cataloging app, rather than from Apple, which does not maintain a public running total of every band, color, and special edition it has sold.
The number is bigger than it first sounds because a band is not simply one product family. Apple has repeatedly introduced new colors, sizes, materials, collaborations, and seasonal updates across Sport Band, Sport Loop, Milanese Loop, Solo Loop, Ocean Band, Trail Loop, and other lines. A new colorway can become its own entry in a collector catalog.

More than 1,000 refers to separate official band releases recorded by collectors. It does not mean that 1,000 styles are currently sold, and it does not reveal how many units Apple made or sold. Many colors disappear after a season, while special-edition bands can have an especially short run.
