Apple Watch Redesign Not Expected Until 2028, Says New Leak

apple watch speak time

Next year’s Apple Watch lineup looks set to keep the same design. A new claim suggests Apple plans no major changes for 2026, pushing any real redesign to 2028. That timeline lowers expectations for anyone hoping to see a fresh look next year.

In a post shared on Weibo, leaker Instant Digital said the 2026 models will look almost identical to the current generation. The claim also links the next big design shift to the period after Apple’s 20th anniversary iPhone launches in late 2027. This creates a clear picture of a steady, familiar Apple Watch design for the next two years.

Earlier Redesign Hints

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also discussed a thinner case and a magnetic band system for future watches. Apple delivered a thinner case in the Series 10, but the magnetic band never arrived, and the Series 11 kept the same overall look. Even leaked Apple code hinting at Touch ID for the 2026 lineup points to a change that might sit under the display, leaving the outer design untouched.

For now, it appears Apple prefers to refine internal features instead of chasing a dramatic new design. Anyone waiting for a bold new Apple Watch look will likely need patience.
