Apple has announced “What Holds Us,” a photography exhibition featuring work shot entirely on iPhone 18 Pro. The show opens in New York City on September 18 and runs through September 20 before traveling to London and Shanghai.
According to Apple’s announcement, Kathy Ryan curated the exhibition, which brings together new work by Alex Prager, Jack Davison, and Jimmy Chin. Its theme is human connection, viewed through crowd scenes, portraits, and mountain photography.
The New York presentation is the first chance to see the project in person. Apple says the work will be displayed in the city from Friday, September 18, through Sunday, September 20. It has confirmed the later London and Shanghai stops, but has not yet published dates for those presentations.

Three photographers, three approaches
Chin photographed climbers and landscapes in British Columbia’s Bugaboo Mountains. Davison made portraits and close studies of hands and clay in a London studio. Prager staged color-saturated crowd scenes in Los Angeles.
The exhibition is also a showcase for the camera changes Apple introduced with iPhone 18 Pro, including variable aperture and new manual controls. Apple characterizes the work as an example of what the phone’s camera system can enable. That is different from an independent camera test, but the images and the artists’ accounts offer a more useful look at the creative choices behind the feature list.
