Apple’s ‘HomePad’ Reappears Again With Another Possible Release Window

Smart Home Device

Apple plans a big update for its home products, and one new device sits at the center of that push. It combines a screen, speakers, and deep Siri AI into a single hub for the home. Many people now call it HomePad or HomePod Touch. After earlier delays, all signs point to a spring launch.

What the latest report says

The Information said Apple is building a home product with a small display, speakers, and a strong focus on AI. Two people familiar with the project told the outlet the device “could be released as soon as this spring.” The report also described a “robotic swiveling base,” which later became a point of debate.

This new detail matters because it lines up with Apple’s broader plan to push AI into more hardware. The home hub stands out as one of the first places where that effort becomes visible to everyday users.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman first described this product in late 2024. At the time, Apple aimed to ship it in March 2025 along with major Siri upgrades. When Apple delayed those AI features, the device also slipped into the future.

Now that iOS 26.4 is on track to bring the new version of Siri this spring, the HomePad appears ready again. That timing gives Apple a reason to finally launch the hardware built around it.

The confusion around the robot base

HomePad could be so fun in 2026, here is everything we know

After the report went live, A post was shared on X about the device, possibly including a “robotic swiveling base.” Gurman pushed back and wrote, “Not true. These are two separate products. Robot is much later.”

This clears up the picture. Apple works on two home devices. One is the touchscreen HomePad that arrives first. The other is a more advanced robotic version that comes later.

Based on what people have reported so far, this device works as a smart home hub with a screen and better Siri. It should handle music, video, home controls, and AI-driven tasks from one place. Apple designed it to sit in common areas like kitchens or living rooms, where voice and touch both matter.

The spring window now looks real. Apple has the software ready, the hardware in place, and a clear need to show progress in AI. This home hub gives the company a simple way to do that.
