Apple’s M6 Chip May Arrive in MacBook Ultra, iMac, and Mac Mini

Apple’s first touch MacBook Pro to Arrive with OLED Display and M6 Chip

Apple’s next-generation M6 chip is expected to arrive this fall, and the first products in line could include Apple’s rumored MacBook Ultra and other Mac models that still have not moved to the M5 chip.

Apple’s biggest Mac update this fall is expected to focus on a redesigned high-end notebook, currently rumored as the MacBook Ultra. The device is expected to bring an OLED display, touchscreen support, Dynamic Island, and a new design that separates it from the regular MacBook Pro lineup.

The MacBook Ultra is also expected to use chips from the M6 family, though Apple has not confirmed the exact versions yet. Based on Apple’s usual Pro laptop strategy, M6 Pro and M6 Max options make sense for a premium notebook aimed at power users.

Other Macs Could Join the M6 Lineup

If Apple keeps the MacBook Pro as a separate product line, the company could also refresh it with M6, M6 Pro, and M6 Max chips at the same time. This would give Apple a wider Mac launch instead of limiting the new chip to one device.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier suggested that the M6 chip could arrive sooner than some people expect. Since a new iPad Pro is not expected this year, the likely candidates include the iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio, which still lack M5 versions.

For now, the MacBook Ultra looks like the main product to watch, but Apple’s fall Mac launch could introduce the M6 chip across more than one device.
