Google Turns Down Volume on Apple Music for Google Home Rumours

Google has moved to dampen down the noise around rumours that Apple Music could be on its way to Google Home devices. The company said it had “nothing to announce.”

No Updates to Announce

On Tuesday, it looked as though Google Home users would be able to get Apple Music on their device in the very near future. Apple Music was listed as default music service option in version 2.9.118 of the Google Home iOS app. While users could not add an account yet, as they could with services like Pandora and Deezer, it seemed a clear indication the integration was on its way. However, Google gave a statement to Venturebeat in which it dismissed the idea that the service was coming to Google Home:

Apple Music is currently only available for Google Assistant users on mobile phones. We have nothing to announce regarding updates to Google Home.

So now it looks like users are going to have to wait a bit longer for that integration.
