Apple might have abandoned leather accessories to meet its environmental goals, but its luxury partner Hermès is still fully committed to the material. The French design house recently introduced a premium charging solution that reimagines Apple’s discontinued MagSafe Duo pad.
Priced at a staggering $5,150, this new accessory costs significantly more than the flagship devices it is designed to power, making it a highly exclusive item for buyers with massive accessory budgets.
Design and materials
The Paddock Duo charger features a folding layout crafted entirely from Gold Swift calfskin. It relies on traditional saddle stitching to hold the premium leather together and largely ditches visible plastic components. The charging surfaces provide space for an iPhone or AirPods on one side, alongside a dedicated magnetic puck for an Apple Watch on the other.
It also ships with a matching Grand Paddock travel case. This protective zipper pouch offers internal storage for spare bands and prevents cables from tangling during transit.
Pricing details of the new luxury accessories
Buying the Paddock Duo requires a serious financial commitment. The $5,150 price tag makes it roughly four times more expensive than a fully loaded iPhone 17 Pro Max. Buyers should also note that the package does not include a power brick. You will need to provide your own 20W USB-C adapter to plug the braided cable into the wall.
If you want a slightly cheaper alternative, Hermès also sells a single device Paddock Solo charger wrapped in its signature leather for $3,725.
