Apple Drops Big Health+ Launch in Favor of Incremental Health Features

Apple has removed its redesigned Health app from iOS 27.2 beta 4, restoring the older interface ahead of the update’s expected public release later this month. The latest developer beta, released on October 13, carries build number 24B5110a.

The redesigned app first appeared in September’s iOS 27.2 beta, giving testers early access to new health insights, Apple Intelligence features, and a Longevity dashboard. However, Apple previously confirmed that the redesign would arrive separately later in 2026.

What Changed in iOS 27.2 Beta 4?

Users installing beta 4 will notice that the Health app has returned to its previous layout, with the Sharing tab replacing the new Longevity section.

As we previously covered, Apple’s redesigned Health app introduces several capabilities designed to help users understand their health data.

These include:

  • Insights tab: Personalized summaries covering heart health, sleep, fitness, readiness, and daily activity.
  • Longevity and Health Age: Long-term health analysis using metrics such as VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep, and heart rate variability.
  • Movement evaluations: At-home assessments for balance, flexibility, and movement using iPhone cameras and compatible devices.
  • Lab testing: Integration with Quest Diagnostics for ordering blood tests and reviewing results.

Apple detailed these capabilities in its official Health announcement.

When Will Apple’s Redesigned Health App Return?

Apple continues to target a release before the end of 2026, although it has not confirmed which iOS update will include the redesign.

The initial rollout will support U.S. English on compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled devices, with some features requiring an Apple Watch.

Meanwhile, iOS 27.2 is expected to reach the public later in October. Developers can follow additional changes through Apple’s official beta release notes.
