iOS 27 beta 5 gives iPhone users more control over Apple’s Liquid Glass design, with the latest update making the most transparent setting even clearer than it was in earlier beta versions.
Apple introduced a Liquid Glass slider in iOS 27 that lets users adjust how transparent or tinted the interface appears, and beta 5 expands that range by pushing the clearest setting further toward a more transparent look.

iOS 27 beta 5 changes the Liquid Glass slider
You can find the Liquid Glass slider under Settings > Appearance > Liquid Glass, where Apple lets you move between a highly transparent appearance, a stronger tinted effect, or a level somewhere between the two.
With iOS 27 beta 5, Apple has adjusted the slider so the lowest tint setting now shows more of the content and colors behind interface elements, giving menus, controls, and other Liquid Glass surfaces a clearer appearance.
Beta Profiles shared a comparison on X showing the difference between the previous beta and beta 5, with the latest version producing a noticeably more transparent effect at the same end of the slider.
The change remains fairly small, although users who prefer the clearest possible Liquid Glass appearance will notice that Apple now gives them more room to reduce the tint across the interface.
Apple continues to refine Liquid Glass ahead of the public iOS 27 release next month, and the adjustable slider gives users more control over how strongly the design appears across their iPhone.
