Apple has announced the next generation of Apple Intelligence, and one of the biggest changes for users is the addition of higher usage limits for iCloud+ subscribers. The new AI system will power several features across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Home devices, while giving paying subscribers access to more frequent use of certain advanced tools.
Apple says some Apple Intelligence features rely on powerful server-based models, which means they cannot offer unlimited access to everyone. As a result, select AI features will include daily usage limits for all users, although iCloud+ subscribers will receive higher limits.
Higher Limits for AI-Powered Features
The company specifically mentioned image generation as one of the features affected by these daily limits. Users will still be able to access these tools for free, but iCloud+ subscribers will get additional usage that allows them to create more AI-generated content throughout the day.
Apple also noted that increased access is available with most iCloud+ subscription plans. This suggests that some lower-cost plans may not qualify for the expanded limits, while higher-tier iCloud+ plans and Apple One subscriptions are expected to include the benefit.
New Home Features for iCloud+ Users
Alongside expanded AI access, Apple is bringing new Home features to iCloud+ subscribers. The company confirmed that Apple Intelligence support is coming to compatible Home cameras, adding smarter capabilities to supported devices.
These upgrades will also extend to HomeKit Secure Video, allowing Apple to integrate more AI-powered features into smart home security and monitoring experiences.
Apple Intelligence remains free to use, but iCloud+ subscribers will receive extra benefits that make advanced AI features more practical for everyday use. With higher usage limits and new Home integrations, Apple is giving subscribers another reason to stay within its growing ecosystem as Apple Intelligence expands across more devices and services.
