Apple Intelligence camera features in the Home app will require an iCloud+ plan with at least 2TB of storage, according to Apple’s latest beta notes. The change applies to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 Golden Gate, where Apple is adding smarter tools for HomeKit Secure Video cameras.
With Apple Intelligence, the Home app can create written summaries for motion alerts, group footage from different cameras, highlight important recordings, and support natural language search. This means users can search camera activity in a more normal way instead of checking clips one by one.
iCloud+ 2TB Plan Required
Apple says users need the 2TB iCloud+ plan or higher to use these new Home camera features. The 2TB plan costs $9.99 per month and also supports unlimited HomeKit Secure Video cameras.
HomeKit Secure Video storage does not count against the iCloud+ storage limit, so users still keep the full 2TB for photos, files, backups, and other data.
