iOS 27 Siri Upgrade to Handle Multiple Commands in One Request

Apple plans to upgrade Siri in iOS 27 with the ability to handle multiple commands in a single request, which changes how users interact with the assistant and removes the need to repeat separate instructions for each task. This update focuses on improving Siri’s multitasking ability so users can ask for several actions at once, such as getting directions and sharing them through Messages, without breaking the flow.

Bloomberg reports that Apple is actively testing this feature as part of its broader Apple Intelligence push.

“The feature would let users combine requests — for example, asking Siri to check the weather, create a calendar appointment and send a message — all within a single prompt. Siri currently requires users to make requests individually, making it a laggard in the AI space.”

This change addresses a long-standing limitation where Siri could only process one command at a time, even though it supported follow-up queries without repeating the wake word. With iOS 27, Siri moves closer to modern AI assistants that already support complex, multi-step requests.

Siri moves toward chatbot-like intelligence

Apple is also redesigning Siri to behave more like a chatbot that understands natural language, maintains persistent context, and works across apps without interruption. The assistant will understand what is on your screen, access personal context, and complete actions across multiple apps in a single flow.

Apple is also working on features such as web-based summaries under a system internally called World Knowledge Answers, along with possible image generation tools through Image Playground integration.

Apple will preview these changes at WWDC 2026 on June 8, where iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 will take center stage. The company plans to roll out the smarter Siri by September, though some features may arrive later as part of ongoing updates and could carry a Preview label at launch.

This upgrade marks one of the biggest shifts for Siri since its launch, with Apple finally closing the gap between its assistant and newer AI-driven competitors.
