The iPhone 18 Pro could fit cases made for the iPhone 17 Pro, which would save buyers from replacing one of the most common accessories when upgrading to Apple’s next flagship model. Two accessory makers now appear to believe the phones will share nearly identical dimensions, although earlier leaks have pointed to a thicker design.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared a photo of an OtterBox case already on sale at Best Buy, with the packaging listing compatibility with both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro. Gurman described the listing as “a little early,” which suggests the packaging should not be treated as confirmation of Apple’s final dimensions.
Astropad’s Matt Ronge has heard similar information from suppliers, with the screen protector maker saying its sources also expect compatibility between the two generations. Accessory companies often receive early dimensional details so they can prepare cases and screen protectors before new iPhones reach stores.

iPhone 18 Pro thickness leaks still conflict
Previous reports have suggested that Apple plans to make at least some iPhone 18 Pro models thicker. One leak claimed the iPhone 18 Pro Max would gain both thickness and weight, while supplier material linked to Tata suggested the smaller iPhone 18 Pro could become roughly 2mm thicker.
Those reports would continue the design direction Apple took with the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, which became thicker and heavier than the previous generation. However, another leaker has claimed the iPhone 18 Pro Max will keep the same thickness as last year’s model.
The OtterBox packaging now adds another piece of evidence pointing toward limited dimensional changes, although Apple’s final iPhone 18 Pro measurements will settle whether existing iPhone 17 Pro cases actually fit.
