Apple is expected to give the iPhone 18 Pro another bold color option this year, with a new burgundy or dark cherry finish reportedly replacing the popular Cosmic Orange shade introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro.
The iPhone 17 Pro marked a noticeable change in Apple’s usual Pro color strategy, as Cosmic Orange gave buyers a much brighter option than the muted finishes Apple had used for years. Early rumors now suggest Apple plans to continue that approach with the iPhone 18 Pro, although the main new color should move toward a much darker red and purple tone.

Current leaks point to three colors that appear consistently across reports, while a fourth darker option remains less certain.
- Burgundy or Dark Cherry
- Light Blue
- Silver
- Dark Gray, possibly
Among these finishes, Burgundy or Dark Cherry is expected to become the main promotional color for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, much like Cosmic Orange received strong attention during the iPhone 17 Pro launch.
iPhone 18 Pro Burgundy could look darker than early mockups
Fixed Focus Digital shared additional details on Weibo, saying that both lighter and darker versions of the rumored color have appeared online. According to the leaker, the darker version appears closer to Apple’s actual finish, with a purple-red tone that looks more like dark cherry than a bright red.
That detail also explains why some early renders have shown a lighter red finish, since previous reports have described the color as red or deep red. The latest information instead points toward a richer burgundy shade with stronger purple undertones.
Apple has not confirmed the iPhone 18 Pro colors, so the final lineup can still differ when the phones launch. However, the repeated references to Burgundy, Light Blue, and Silver suggest Apple already has a clear color direction for its next Pro models.
