Apple releases the first macOS 27 Golden Gate beta with Siri AI upgrades, design refinements, smarter search, and performance improvements.

Apple has released macOS 27 Developer Beta 3 for developers. This update continues testing for macOS 27 Golden Gate before the public release later this year.

The update is available through Software Update for eligible Macs enrolled in the developer beta program.

How to Update to macOS 27 Developer Beta 3

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac.
  2. Go to General.
  3. Click Software Update.
  4. Select Beta Updates.
  5. Choose macOS 27 Developer Beta.
  6. Go back and install the new update.

Before installing, back up your Mac using Time Machine or another backup method. Beta updates can include bugs, app issues, and battery drain.

What’s New in macOS 27 Developer Beta 3

Apple has not shared a full list of new changes for macOS 27 Developer Beta 3 yet. The update mainly appears to focus on bug fixes, performance improvements, and stability changes.

Expected improvements include:

  • Better system stability: Apple is likely fixing crashes and early beta issues reported by developers.
  • Performance tuning: macOS 27 already focuses on smoother performance, and this beta should continue improving daily use on supported Macs.
  • UI refinements: macOS 27 Golden Gate includes design improvements, so Beta 3 may bring small visual changes across menus, windows, and system apps.
  • Apple Intelligence testing: Features like Siri AI, Visual Intelligence, and new Apple Intelligence tools are still being tested and may not be fully available for all users.

Since this is still a developer beta, it is better to install it on a secondary Mac instead of your main device.

If you’ve already installed the update, let us know your experience in the comments.
