Apple has spent years keeping touchscreen support away from the Mac, but new signs suggest that decision could soon change. Recent references found in macOS Golden Gate already hinted at touch functionality coming to future Mac models, and a new supply chain leak has added further support to those reports.

According to supply chain leaker Instant Digital, Apple is preparing to launch a MacBook with a touch-enabled display. In a recent post, the leaker stated that it is “100% confirmed” that future MacBook screens will support touch input.

The claim follows reports that Samsung is preparing to manufacture touch-capable display panels for Apple’s upcoming Mac notebooks. As a result, expectations continue to grow that Apple is getting ready to introduce one of the biggest hardware changes in MacBook history.

MacBook Ultra or MacBook Pro?

While multiple rumors agree that touchscreen support is coming, there is still uncertainty about the product’s final branding. Some reports suggest Apple could launch the device as a new MacBook Ultra, while others believe it will remain part of the MacBook Pro lineup.

For now, the exact name remains unclear. However, growing evidence from software references and supply chain sources suggests that touchscreen support on the Mac is no longer a distant possibility and could arrive sooner than many expected.
