Nvidia CloudXR 6.0 brings 4K immersive apps to Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26.4

Apple Vision Pro is getting a major upgrade as visionOS 26.4 adds support for Nvidia’s CloudXR 6.0, which brings high-resolution immersive streaming, real-time responsiveness, and enterprise-grade spatial computing to the headset without needing a wired PC connection.

Nvidia confirmed the update during its GTC global AI conference, where it detailed how CloudXR 6.0 works with Apple Vision Pro to deliver “high-resolution, low-latency immersive content” using foveated streaming while keeping user gaze data secure over a private connection.

The setup allows apps to stream at 4K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the system adjusts rendering based on where the user is looking, which Nvidia describes as “intelligently optimizing rendering resolution” without exposing sensitive eye-tracking data.

CloudXR changes for developers and users

This integration also simplifies development since Nvidia now offers multi-platform Xcode templates, allowing developers to build once and deploy across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro.

At the same time, the platform supports demanding workloads that require “uncompromised high-fidelity visuals,” fast response times, and full immersion, which are key for both gaming and enterprise use cases.

On the gaming side, titles like X-Plane 12 and iRacing already use CloudXR to deliver advanced simulation experiences on Apple Vision Pro.

Beyond gaming, Nvidia highlights real-world applications across industries, including automotive design, manufacturing, and engineering, where teams can run 1:1 scale collaborative reviews using spatial computing.

Autodesk VRED app leads enterprise push

One key example is the upcoming “Immersive for Autodesk VRED” app, which Volvo and other companies will use for design workflows, allowing teams to visualize complex models with RTX-powered ray tracing at full scale inside Apple Vision Pro.

Nvidia says this setup “transforms the design review process” for companies like BMW Group, Kia, Rivian, and Volvo Group, while other partners such as Foxconn and Switch are already using the technology for factory planning and data center management.

This update pushes Apple Vision Pro further into enterprise use, where immersive computing is becoming part of daily workflows.
