Subways in New York City have finished rolling out support for contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay using the One Metro New York (OMNY) system.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) said the system was supposed to have been completed by October but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a press conference, MTA executive director Al Putre said the next goal is to bring OMNY to New York railroads and release contactless OMNY cards to replace MetroCards in 2023.
