Pluribus Becomes Apple TV’s Only Top 10 Original After Finale Week

Pluribus closed its season with a sharp rise in viewership, marking its strongest week yet on Apple TV. The finale pushed the series to new highs and placed it among the most-watched originals in the U.S. during the Christmas week, even as competition from major streaming releases intensified.

According to Nielsen data cited by Deadline, Pluribus recorded 483 million minutes viewed in the U.S. between December 22 and 28. That figure reflects a 40 percent jump from the previous week and secured sixth place on Nielsen’s Top 10 Originals chart. One week earlier, the series ranked ninth with 360 million minutes viewed.

Here are the side-by-side figures:

  • Pluribus: 483 million minutes viewed, up 40 percent week over week, ranked No. 6 on Nielsen Top 10 Originals
  • Stranger Things: 6.89 billion minutes viewed, ranked No. 1 on Originals and Overall charts
  • Landman: 1.64 billion minutes viewed, ranked No. 2 overall
  • Fallout: 918 million minutes viewed, ranked No. 3 on Originals and No. 7 overall
  • The Closer: 974 million minutes viewed, ranked No. 1 among acquired titles
  • Taylor Swift: The End of an Era: 377 million minutes viewed, boosted by final episodes

Season finale drives growth

The timing of the finale played a clear role. With just nine episodes available, Pluribus reached viewership levels typically seen from shows with much larger episode libraries. It outperformed titles such as Mayor of Kingstown, Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Beast in Me, and Taylor Swift: The End of an Era. It also stood as Apple TV’s only entry on the Top 10 Originals list that week.

This performance becomes more notable when placed next to competitors. Stranger Things dominated the charts, leading both the Originals and Overall rankings with 6.89 billion minutes viewed after releasing new episodes of its final season. Other strong performers included Landman with 1.64 billion minutes and Fallout with 918 million minutes, driven in part by new episode releases.

In a separate statement, Apple described Pluribus as its most-watched show ever. The company said the series had become “Apple TV’s most watched show of all time.” Apple did not share specific numbers to support that claim, which makes it difficult to compare the show’s performance directly against other Apple TV releases.

Even so, the Nielsen data offers a clearer snapshot of momentum. The finale week shows that Pluribus gained traction at the right moment, cutting through a crowded holiday streaming window. While the data only covers U.S. audiences, the jump suggests strong engagement and growing interest as the season wrapped up.
