What Is Pokémon GO Fest 2026 About?

Pokémon GO Fest is the game’s biggest yearly celebration. It encourages players to explore outdoor areas, catch featured Pokémon, complete research tasks, join raids, and play alongside local communities.

The 2026 Global event is especially important because it celebrates ten years of Pokémon GO. For the first time, the Global event is free for every Trainer who logs in during the event period. Free features include Special Research, event bonuses, and an increased chance of finding Shiny Pokémon.

Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y make their Pokémon GO debut through Super Mega Raid Battles. Players can defeat them to collect the required Mega Energy and catch Mewtwo with at least one Mega Level already unlocked.

The event also introduces Zeraora through a Special Research storyline. Players only need to log in during GO Fest weekend to claim the research, and it can be completed later because it does not expire.

Other Bonuses and Activities

Different Pokémon types appear during scheduled three-hour habitat periods. Across both days, players can encounter Pokémon representing all 18 types.

Other bonuses include up to nine free Raid Passes per day, six Special Trades, half the usual Stardust cost for trades, hourly Field Research, extended Lure Modules, Global Challenges, and the ability to open up to 50 Gifts each day.

Pokémon GO Fest 2026 gives both new and returning players a full weekend of raids, research, Shiny hunting, and community gameplay without requiring a Global event ticket.
