Spotify Raises US Subscription Prices Again, with Increases Across all Premium Plans

Spotify plans for another US Price Increase starting next year

Spotify has announced another price increase in the United States, along with changes in Estonia and Latvia. This marks the company’s third U.S. price hike in less than three years. The new rates will apply on each subscriber’s next billing date, while new customers will see the updated prices immediately.

Spotify shared the update in a post on its website earlier today. Premium users in affected markets will receive an email over the coming weeks explaining how the changes apply to their accounts.

New US pricing

In the United States, every major Premium tier is getting more expensive. Here are the updated monthly rates:

  • Individual: $12.99, up from $11.99
  • Student: $6.99, up from $5.99
  • Duo: $18.99, up from $16.99
  • Family: $21.99, up from $19.99

Spotify said the increases reflect regular pricing updates across its markets.

“Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists.”

A pattern of frequent increases

This change continues a recent trend. Spotify raised U.S. prices for the first time in July 2023, then again in June 2024. The January 2026 update adds another dollar to the Individual plan, after more than a decade of stable pricing before 2023.

Outside the United States, Spotify has already increased prices in many regions. In August 2025, the company raised subscription costs across several international markets, including parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Countries such as the United Kingdom and Switzerland saw similar increases.

The U.S. had avoided the latest round of global price changes until now. That pause is over.

Spotify also provided sample email text for affected users:

“Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in February, your subscription price will change from $11.99/month to $12.99/month.”
