tvOS 26.4 Developer Beta 4 Released: Everything New for Apple TV

tvOS 26.6 Public Beta 1 Now Available for Apple TV Users

Apple has released tvOS 26.4 Developer Beta 4 for developers. The update is now available for eligible Apple TV models, mainly for testing apps, checking performance, and finding bugs before the public release.

How to Update to tvOS 26.4 Developer Beta 4

  1. Open Settings on your Apple TV.
  2. Go to System.
  3. Select Software Updates.
  4. Turn on Beta Updates.
  5. Choose tvOS 26.4 Developer Beta.
  6. Select Update Software and install the latest beta.

Make sure your Apple TV is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before starting the update.

  • iTunes Movies and TV Shows apps removed: Apple is removing the old iTunes Movies and iTunes TV Shows apps from Apple TV. Purchased content is now handled through the Apple TV app.
  • Continuous Audio Connection: tvOS 26.4 adds a new HDMI audio option that helps keep audio connection stable with some sound systems and receivers.
  • Audio playback fix: The update fixes an issue where audio playback could behave incorrectly when switching between different sound formats, such as Dolby Atmos and stereo.
  • Performance and stability improvements: Apple has also included general bug fixes and improvements to make Apple TV run smoother during testing.

Since this is still a developer beta, it may include bugs or performance issues. It is better to install it only if you are testing apps or comfortable using beta software.
