Apple has rolled out watchOS 26.3 public beta 3, one day after releasing developer beta 3. This update is part of Apple’s wider 26.3 beta cycle across iPhone, iPad, Mac, TV, and Vision platforms.
Public beta 3 uses the same build as the latest developer beta. For Apple Watch, that build is 23S5611c.
So far, watchOS 26.3 looks like a polished release. The biggest user-facing addition tied to the 26.3 updates is support for the second-generation AirTag, including Precision Finding on Apple Watch.
How to install watchOS 26.3 public beta 3
- On your iPhone, open the Watch app
- Tap General
- Tap Software Update
- Tap Beta Updates
- Choose watchOS Public Beta
- Go back, then tap Download and Install
Before you start: charge your Apple Watch and keep it on the charger, and keep your iPhone nearby on Wi-Fi during the install.
Changes in watchOS 26.3 public beta 3
Apple has not highlighted a long list of new features in this build, and early beta coverage points to a cycle focused on fixes and stability.
Here’s what stands out right now:
- AirTag (2nd generation) support across the 26.3 updates, including Precision Finding on Apple Watch
- Bug fixes and stability improvements across the watchOS 26.3 cycle, with few visible changes reported in beta 3
- Under-the-hood refinements typical for late-cycle betas as Apple moves toward a wider release
What’s next
Apple’s beta cadence points to 26.3 release-candidate builds soon, followed by the public release. After that, attention shifts to 26.4 betas, which are already tied to reports of a Gemini-powered Siri preview in February.
