Need quick help with your iPhone, Mac, or an Apple service? Here’s the shortest way to start a live chat with Apple Support, plus what to do if the chat option doesn’t appear. Clear steps, no fluff.
Quick answer
- Apple Support app (fastest): Open the app > pick your device > choose a topic > select Chat. If you don’t see Chat, tap Something else or try a broader category like Setup & Usage.
- Get Support on the web: Sign in > choose product > pick the issue > select Chat. Availability varies by region and topic.
Method 1: Start a chat from the Apple Support app
- Open the Apple Support app on iPhone or iPad. Your devices appear automatically.
- Select the device or service you need help with.
- Choose the closest topic. If Chat isn’t offered, use Something else or search for a broader topic such as Setup & Usage.
- Tap Chat to connect to an Apple Advisor. You can attach photos or screenshots during the conversation.
- Find your open cases and transcript under Recent Activity in the app.
Tip: Sign in with the Apple ID that owns the device or subscription. It helps Apple confirm coverage and surface chat faster.
Method 2: Start a chat on the web (Get Support)
- Go to the Get Support website and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Select the product or service > pick the issue that best matches.
- Choose Chat when it appears, then describe the problem to the advisor.
- Afterward, you can receive the transcript by email and track the case in your support dashboard.
Messages chat (where available)
For some topics and regions, you may see a Messages icon as an option. That starts a secure conversation in the Messages app and keeps the thread for future follow‑ups. You can send photos, videos, and even schedule a call from within the thread when needed.
If chat doesn’t show up
- Try a broader topic: Pick Setup & Usage or Something else instead of very specific issues like Apple ID security.
- Switch device category: If you need Apple ID help, start from your iPhone or Mac category first, then request account assistance in chat.
- Sign in: Being signed in helps Apple match you with the right options and coverage.
- Check business hours: Chat isn’t 24/7 in every region. Try again during local business hours.
- Use a different contact method: If chat is unavailable for your topic or region, request a callback or schedule a time to talk.
What you can do in chat
- Run guided troubleshooting with an Advisor.
- Attach screenshots and photos to explain the issue.
- Get a case number and a transcript by email.
- Escalate to a phone call or book a repair/pickup if needed.
Privacy & verification
- Never share your Apple ID password or two‑factor codes.
- Advisors may ask for your device serial number or order number to verify details.
- Conversations in Messages appear as business chats and are labeled clearly.

I have chatted with Apple, but my problem is this: Something has gone haywire with my Quicken. Apple chat went through a lot of suggestions, but nothing worked. Apple won’t accept my password, which is correct, by the way, and I’m blocked from (trying) to get on my offsite backup service. I cannot get a backup to my financial hardware because I’ve tried too many times to log into it. So these problems has several layers. My Quicken file is corrupted, needs help that’s online, cannot get online because Apply doesn’t recognize my correct password. Now I have to wait for word from Apple to try to log on again, and even when I do, Apple will reject my correct password. I don’t know how to straighten any of this out.
I just purchased my iphone17 on January 5, 2026, on May15, 2026 there was an automatic software update I did not know about until i went to get on my phone and it was locked. I can not do anything on it I have tried to fix it by changing my password it will not let me I can not do a recovery on I have spent 4 days now working on a way to bypass my logon that is a no go. I have talked with Apple that didn’t go well cuz I didn’t have a good Apple phone to work with cuz the update infected my Iphone11 also. Now Apple wants me to prove to them its my phone which means I had to go to Xfinity this morning to get a receipt. This is so frustrating and a waste of my time I need my phone now to be working. I do not understand what is going on with them locking my phone after that stupid update. Now I am going to lose what files I didn’t back up when the phone went in lock down. I was not prepared for what just happened and I am not a happy camper right now. They have all my information and it still will nothing they an do online to help me. I am so angry I could spit tacks right now I don’t have time for their bullshit. I understand the security behind the product but why keep it from the owner of the phone. NEED HELP A.S.A.P. DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!!!!!

I didn’t intend to keep the subscription and I cancelled it immediately after noticing it. I would appreciate if the refund could be reconsidered.”

in my case, I want to reach a live ca rep or if possible an exec if not Tim Cook himself to at least file formal complaint to Apple about their inexcusable handling of payment details. I have outstanding with them for at least a month and can’t even pay that unless willing to cave and give them my latest real card number because even tho their tos and such don’t seem to at all or readily up front clearly state so, they apparently won’t accept virtual card, or won’t accept ANY payment such as I. my case where the user has von, abtitrack etc on. If you try paying with an actual credit or debit, it often won’t go thru if you’re using von or similar security and or masking when logged in. And Apple is almost the ONLY big company of its kind who refuse based on such a puddling detail as geo mismatch (imc, the mask is on low but at least shows me in Texas tho I’m in a nearby but different US state. Come on, Apple, get your act together and get with the times. You’re the only major company that makes customers go to such length as having to shut off every security and otherwise dance like a gd monkey for u.
You want my money after I made a provable good faith attempt to pay you only for you to reject that, then take me to court or maybe stop being such fools and let thru my virtual card I offered you for pay. Bit you won’t see a dime outta me if u insist on unsecured login AND my actual credit card to pay. I know the law and fights, and you are absolutely in the wrong bo case in your side here, since I made good faith toward you. I will die on this hill if I must, because someone needs to make an example of do called almighty Apple
Well I wanted to talk to an agent cuz I’m really fucking tried right now and I need a phone call ASAP.
hi
40 minutes and I still cannot sign in. It is not worth it.
You refused to recognize my password which was correct.
I set up a new password although you kept advising you could not send a code to my phone number. After 7 identical tries you finally sent the code (to my original phone number) and confirmed I have a new password.
I tried to sign in and you would not accept my valid user name or the new password.
What am I supposed to do? Cancel Apple and subscribe to HBO instead?
How to open an Exec file on a MacBook Air?
To open an .exe file on a MacBook Air, you’ll need extra software since .exe files are made for Windows. The easiest way is to use Wine or CrossOver, which let you run some Windows programs directly on macOS. Alternatively, you can install Windows through Boot Camp or use a virtual machine like Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion to run Windows and open the file there.
You can try converting it, but .exe files aren’t easy to convert since they’re made for Windows. Most converters won’t make them fully work on macOS. It’s usually more reliable to run them through Wine or a virtual machine instead of converting.
