Apple: New iPad Launches 8AM Friday

Apple made the rumors official on Wednesday when it announced that in-store sales for the third generation iPad would start at 8AM on Friday, March 16. The company announced a week ago that the new iPad would go on sale this Friday, but hadn’t yet confirmed when stores would open their doors.

The new iPad model will be available this Friday in the United States, the U.K., Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Apple’s third generation iPad includes a high resolution Retina display, the company’s own A5X processor, quad-core graphics, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing camera for FaceTime, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and some models also include LTE wireless data support. It is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.

Pricing for the new iPad starts at US$499.
